I remember crying videos about people being mean. It was a few years ago I don’t really remember any details.

We used to watch a lot of game theory. Really enjoyed the over analysis. Stopped part way down the 5 nights at Freddie’s rabbit hole when all the drama started.
It’s fine as a switch your brain off and shoot stuff game. But I’d agree other stuff is probably worth more of your time.
There’s a really good Kurzgesagt (in a nutshell) about this topic. (Also their videos are excellent in general, highly recommend their YouTube channel).
My thoughts on this are: we may not have free will but it still feels like we make choices so I will continue to choose to do things which matters to me and enjoy my time in the universe.
This is a really underwhelming month for me. I’ve already got Borderlands 3 and Among us and I’ve no interest in EA sports games. Usually there’s at least 1 game I have some interest in.
The gameplay is fun. The plot and characters are a dumpster fire. Skip the cut scenes and ignore the dialogue and enjoy the shooty looty goodness.
Snap. My dad was always conservative but generally a pretty accepting person. Brexit and COVID really sent him down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole and he’s gone full blown racist nut job. There’s a huge amount of topics which are just off limits with my family now in the efforts of retaining some sort of relationship. Fortunately they live 6 hours away so we don’t see them that often.
Wasps usually kill other bugs. So you might end up with more of the biting bugs without them.
Snap I’m really enjoying this season. Hopefully they can stick the ending.
They are really useful if you’re in hospital and too unwell to go out for a cigarette.
Yup, several times. The joys of working in healthcare.
Do you have a game of choice? I’ve just finished running a Dresden files accelerated game which was a lot of fun.
I wanted to love Quantum Break so much but it was just a buggy mess on my pc, I spent hours messing with settings but it just wouldn’t run smoothly. I still managed to push through to mission 4 or so. Maybe I’ll give it another go.
I’m working my way through forbidden west as well. I’m really enjoying it. It’s always good to spend more time in an interesting game world. I really appreciate the more free form climbing system in this one, not quite breath of the wild climbing but way better than grab the yellow ledges only.
I love hiking. I think you’ve got a decent start with what you’ve written already. I would advise getting familiar with navigating yourself with a map and compass, a lot of places don’t have phone signal so at a minimum download your map and make sure you’ve got the battery to last the trip and some extra. I definitely agree with your thoughts about carrying more water than you think you’ll need, generally water will be the heaviest thing will carry but one of the most important.
I love hearing about DF but it’s so dense that I was never able to get into it myself. Plus I struggled with the art, or lack of it on the earlier builds.
Me too, I’ve binged it twice (takes a good few weeks each time). Haven’t been able to get into the sequel nearly as much though.
I can second all of these. Generation zero is the only one I didn’t enjoy much but I suspect it’s a lot better with friends.
The rest are fab, I’m currently playing Kena it’s like Pixar/ Disney meets dark souls. Beautiful game, has these little critters which follow you around called rot who are super cute and you can put hats on them.
Control is just excellent. The combat feels great and for me the whole game was worth playing just for the Ashtray maze sequence.
We really need a big push into bacteriophage research I think. Get the bugs all killing each other so we can keep our antibiotics for emergencies.
Have you tried the ps5 controller? Genuinely my favourite thing about the ps5. The adaptive triggers and the haptics are so good. The battery life feels better too. That was my biggest complaint about the 4s especially compared to the ps3s, those lasted for weeks.
