Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•I get a lot of ideas in the shower. Do any of you use any kind of waterproof note taking pad and pen so you can catch those ideas before they vanish in the steam?
1·7 天前If you have a phone with voice recognition, I sure you can just have it auto dictate when you ask it to.

5·9 天前You really think a lot about comic books in the shower, don’t you?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•if you're offered a position you can use to advance your career but it involves people without boundaries, do you tell your maybe-future-to-be manager you don't want to work with those people?
8·12 天前A few words in and I could already tell who it was. I have no idea how this person is still in a field that involves people.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Luke Cage is way to overpowerd to be a "street level" hero
14·20 天前The reason he is a street level hero is because I believe he was created for that. It was important back then (and still today) to have a bulletproof black man in comics. Luke Cage was the first African American Marvel super hero to get his own comic (Black Panther being the first over black Marvel hero)

2·20 天前He’s been on the Avengers, so he must have been in instances to let loose.
It hasn’t even been a month since this was posted before.

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•Does Ōkami get better? [Spoilers for first half of game inside]English
41·22 天前I also had a similar reaction. I bought it when it came out on the wii, but quickly sold it because I couldn’t get into it. I kept hearing how amazing it was over the years, so I bought it again for very cheap a couple of years ago. I finished it the second time around mostly because I had now paid twice for it. The artwork and world are amazing, but the gameplay was underwhelming for me. I do own one figure, because I like the artwork.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why is every person involved in a movie listed in the credits?
16·24 天前What’s funny is not everyone gets credits anymore. 3rd party vendors have limits on how many names can go in the credits now.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it weird I don't typically answer how old I am anymore, because literally nobody besides my family believes me?

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that apart from not having a car and voting, the single greatest thing you can do for the climate is simply eating less red meat.
1·4 个月前I was surprised it was that high. I don’t ever drink coffee, so hopefully it offsets some of the meat. We have already reduced our consumption.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think it would be more cool if society kept using tech like telephones (the non-"smart" type), pagers, telegraphs, and radios, instead of the internet?
7·4 个月前It’s been done in a few places. Fallout and Starwars have been mentioned, but there is also the Maniac series. And while not as hopeful as your example, Blade Runner and Dune also stagnated in terms on communication with no internet.

11·4 个月前TIL what a window well is. I would honestly love to see what it looks like from outside. Is there some kind of covered up grate on top?
I think for me it’s a combination of the “time” people are mentioning, but also boredom. When you’re younger, everything is new. When you’re older you start noticing the repeating patterns in media. It’s the reason I also stopped watching anime. If I play a game now, it has to really be something that new that will hold my attention, outside of a couple of franchises. Outer Wilds for example, blew my mind.

This reminds me of my take a bit. The meaning of life is “Living to die”, meaning you live life to choose how you die. It’s more symbolic way of living more than anything else, because many things do factor into your death.
