I discovered 90s alternative rock during my high school years in sunny Southern California. Nirvana, Radiohead, the Smashing Pumpkins, Sublime, Weezer - these were just some of the many bands playing on the alt rock radio airwaves. pop music is always interesting.
it iterates on itself over and over and over until a disruption comes (think when late 80s and 1990 pop vapid pop got hit with grunge’s and authenticism of REM in the early 90s) - which then pop adapted, started pumping out 90s rock that iterated on itself for a few years until hip-hop took over.
So interesting. Young folks must be getting bored of where pop was going with the Swifts & Beyonces and whatnot, especially once the parents got into it, and now they are pivoting.
Good for them! Let’s hit those distorted d-tuned power chords y’all!
