We just started playing D2 and it’s pretty great 😃👍. Should we first play through Destiny (1) ?

Should we buy Destiny 2 and play, or should we wait until next thing Destiny/bungie comes out with next?

Is playing the free version good enough or?..

( I heard 700 ppl got leyed off their jobs at Bungie; so that’s why I am asking. + I know almost nothing about Destiny Games)

TY 😊🙏

I might be a bit biased since I recently uninstalled Destiny 2. But I would play Destiny 1. It is not perfect but it has all the story and the dlc still exists as apposed to Destiny 2 that removed the main campaign and DLCS that people paid for got removed from the game as well.
Also the grind in Destiny 2 to increase your power level only for it to be useless next season makes it feel less like a progression and more like a treadmill.

Not sure how recently you uninstalled but the power cap hasn’t increased since lightfall so there has been no power grind if you’ve reached pinnacle cap

I think I stopped playing either just before or at the start of lightfall.
Good to know they got rid of the Hamster wheel.

If you are enjoying the game you can play through all the free stuff and it will get you to a point. If you’re wanting to do more things and have access to other aspects then that’s when you’d have to start spending.

I recommend waiting till a sale as they are fairly frequent. Grabbing the ‘pack’ that has Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and Witch Queen on sale is a good jumping in point. Like I said sales on Steam and such are frequent and if you’re having a lot of fun then it’s your call if it’s worth the money.

As to lay offs, yes they happened. Destiny 2 isn’t going away as far as any one outside Bungie knows. Also you don’t have to go back and play Destiny unless that’s something you wanted to do.

Depends on what you want. As a very long-term player, there are certain aspects of the game I’m not satisfied with, and they will inevitably also apply to a new player. It’s still a great game, but as a new light, figuring things out will be rough. Bungie are well aware of that too.

The f2p game doesn’t have a whole ton to explore, but take this as an opportunity to familiarize yourself with what the game offers.

Each expansion will provide you with a few weeks of content you can grind for collectibles and story. I would suggest you get one at a time.

I’m not sure if you can buy the seasons separately, but if you’re really interested in the newest content, get yourself the dungeon key, and the pass for Season of the Wish.

It depends on what you want to experience for content, I guess. If you find yourself getting interested in the story I’d definitely recommend getting the DLC. Maybe minus Lightfall though.

The Legacy Pack is free last I looked on the Epic Game Store. I’d say start there.
