In true feline style, cats took their time in deciding when and where to forge bonds with humans.
According to new scientific evidence, the shift from wild hunter to pampered pet happened much more recently than previously thought - and in a different place.
We became cats’ fervent followers much later than you think
FTFY 🤌🏼
humanity first started domesticating cats when farmers figured out cats can kill the mice and rats eating the crops on the farm
but as this article may or may not say, they didn’t become house pets until much later
wolves became dogs once humanity first realized they can be used to help out on hunts. If I had to guess, the first hunting dogs were pointers, because a dog’s senses are much sharper than ours, they can hear things moving around a lot better than we can. so the first of humanity’s hunters would watch their domesticated wolves for when the dogs jerk their heads in a different direction suddenly and that was indicative of an animal moving nearby
I actually worked a security job for awhile, and one of the guys I worked with had a german shorthaired pointer for a partner. The handler of that dog was impressed at how quickly I picked up on the signals the dog gave whenever someone was lurking around in the dark and I had to tell him it wasn’t that impressive, I’m just hyper observant from being autistic
