Hey there, just wanted to place an announcement here that I have created a separate community for Thunder Nightly.
To summarize, the purpose of Thunder Nightly is to have a place for people to test out pre-release versions of Thunder. This includes testing new and upcoming features, as well as checking for any major bugs or issues that may become a big issue if it was released as an alpha version here.
A quick note: although Thunder is still considered to be in the alpha stages of development, I would still like to be able to release these alpha versions with as little bugs as possible.
I am grateful for the incredible support and growth so far from this community, and while it has been simply amazing, it has also made it more difficult for me to keep up with everything myself. This is why I’m reaching out to the community for help!
If you think you’d be interested in helping out, feel free to join that community. Otherwise, you can stick around here and do your part by contributing even more feedback!
I know this isn’t the correct place to ask this question so sorry in advance. How do I go about adding mastodon to my main browsing screen on Thunder or is that even how this system works. I’m so new and so confused haha
I’m not too sure myself if there’s a way to add Mastodon as that’s a different platform. For Thunder, you can add any lemmy instances, which is itself separate from kbin, or Mastodon. There might be someone who’s a bit more knowledgeable on this topic that can help you!
If people are clicking the link in the post above, it will not redirect them from within the same instance. Try this link instead - !thunder_nightly@lemmy.world
How will these nightlys be released? Github? I will absolutely join but cannot if its via play store as i do not have a google account and refuse to get another
I’m still working on the details on where I would release them - but it seems like it’ll most likely be through GitHub (like the alpha versions atm), but those pre-releases won’t trigger an in-app notification to all users
