General history, preferably. Perfect Books has some niche histories and trivia, but I want to read the whole thing from the beginning (in hardcopy, not digital).

    If it’s the whole thing beginning to end you’re after, try Ottawa: An Illustrated History by John H. Taylor.

    Edit: Some honourable mentions re: just history in general.

    An Acre of Time by Phil Jenkins - a really in-depth look at the history of Lebreton Flats. I loved it, but I’ve also had a fascination with that area ever since I arrived here, for god knows what reason.

    Ottawa Rewind (any of them) by Andrew King. A bit more on the trivia side, but I like Andrew’s work.
