I can’t really see a clear way to back out and I think that by that time the internal faction war was in full swing and no one could establish a dominant strategy. What won out was extorting Europe because it was the easiest to understand

The clear way back out would’ve been to start direct negotiations with Russia, something Trump finally started doing. The US could’ve ended the war basically at any time, it was entirely the choice of Biden admin to pursue it at the detriment of US geopolitical position. That’s what makes this purely irrational.

I dunno. I don’t think Biden could have done it. Face is very important to white Europeans. The US could have mechanically ended the war but couldn’t end it politically. They needed the Russophobia, they needed to believe that the munitions consumption would kick start their industry, they needed to test the resolve of their “allies”/vassals. There was too much riding on that particular administration continuing the war and that’s why they needed Trump to come in and end it so it would remain congruent with the narrative

I get all that, but it doesn’t make their self destructive behavior any more rational. You could argue that it’s a national level insanity, but it’s insanity all the same.

Yeah, that’s fair. Not being able to stop because of the system of vibes is pretty insane
