The actual community name hasn’t changed from !spaceporn@lemmy.fmhy.ml, right? I guess changing that would mean moving to a new community.
Yes, you can only change displayed name of the community.
Wouldn’t now be the perfect time to change communities in that case? The subscriber count is still low and people won’t really complain.
The subscriber count is pretty damn high for lemmy standards and it’s not worth losing a lot of subscribers over something so trivial like permament sub name. Posts on the sub would also be lost which would be a shame.
Why change of the name?
I’ve had multiple users express to me that they would like to see a name change to lose the porn moniker. If it makes people more comfortable then I’m fine with it.
