Ok I know it’s not what your comment is about, but there is necromancy in WWF? How cool. I need to look into it.

The Undertaker was (for a long time) a literal zombie walking around by the grace of an urn held by his manager (and former real world undertaker) Paul Bearer.

Wrestling is full of dragons and monsters and people who can fly. It’s magical.

Yup. What should I watch for a start? (And where/how?) I want fun stories, folklore, (mythology?), ideally women?

There aren’t a ton of really good women in earlier WWE, but I highly recommend watching AEW for women with fun stories right now. The Timeless Toni Storm storyline is amazing, and you can find a video on YouTube.

For my money, the best lore and wild character work was in Lucha Underground. I don’t know where to watch it right now, but it has dragons, zombies, moth men, phoenixes, and a crazy violent authority figure who runs the ring like a temple. It’s incredible.

ETA my partner just let me know Lucha Underground is streaming on Cineverse, which is ad supported. Check it out! It’s WILD.
