This year I’m gonna Google wtf that means
National Novel Writing Month. It’s an event where people try to write a novel in a month.
If you’ve seriously never heard of it before, look it up, it’s fun
Seriously? Get out of your bubble once in a while lol
Well, you can sit and hate all you want, the rest of us will have fun with or without you.
The only one who’s going to suffer from being so miserable is you.
I don’t think anyone was hating originally. The “seriously?” was likely referencing your use of the word, rather than being a comment on the matter of your original question. One can read your comment as being in disbelief that somebody might be unfamiliar with the highly specific acronym you were using, which probably prompted them to comment on the “bubble”.
Nah, they’re hating and you’re just coming to their defense. It doesn’t actually matter too much though. Like I said, they’re the ones missing out, not me. 😎
No they’re actually right lol
I just found it funny you’d expect everyone to know that.
No, no, being told to get out of one’s bubble is a commonly-used derisive insult.
Oh, you’re the troll. Well, I’m sorry your own misery, toxicity and lack of enjoyment in life is so painful to you that you felt the need to lash out and derail a thread about something completely innocuous, but that’s entirely a you problem. Now go touch grass.
In that case the best way to write it would have been to put it in quotation marks.
“Seriously?” [Yes it’s a serious question. Thinking everyone knows what you know is a symptom of living in a bubble so] get out of your bubble more lol
Nailed it
You can sit around and be a pretentious dick all you want, or you can take this as an opportunity to welcome people to something that you enjoy. Clearly you’ve already decided to do the former.
And you of course took the opportunity not to practice as you preach but to make yourself feel superior to both.
They already made up their mind that they don’t like NaNoWriMo and it’s not my responsibility nor my prerogative to try to control other people’s feelings about it. If they don’t like it, I’ll just dismiss them, as I have, and be done with it. If they do, I’ll talk about it with them.
That was my one and only intention when making this thread. I do that because I respect the agency (I like to assume) other people have. You really need to learn to do the same.
That is the most pretentious way of saying “nuh-uh” I’ve read today. Feel free to continue your string of pseudo-intellectual, self-aggrandizing bullshit, but don’t expect me to clap for you.
Well, you can sit there and whine, complain and be a dick all you want to, or you can take this as an opportunity to educate other people toward your way of thinking. Clearly you’ve already decided to do the former.
Ignoring it like every year?
I’m Ron Burgundy?
[Serious] Now that your response to the other person explains what that is, nothing.
What is that?
i can’t think of a good topic. Too many wild things in this earth going on at once.
What if your topic was… all of them?
Once upon a time, in a galaxy both very far away and also quite close because galaxies are quite big, there was a period of matter coalescence that resulted in many stories occurring. The End.
…. or is it??
I’ve successfully done it twice, I haven’t decided if I want to do it again this year or not. I still don’t have a plot idea.
🤔 I wonder if there’s a NaNoWriMo group on Lemmy yet.
(insert ai here), give me 3 single sentence plot ideas.
I generally go this route when I’ve got writer’s block. Sorry if it’s sacrilegious.
But on topic, nothing.
Time constraints stress me out. I’ll be doing a lot of writing as usual, but I make no promises to finish anything in November.
Never heard of it before now. Seriously.
I’m celebrating by getting drunk!
