"So I stopped and then this light came out, and then two lights behind it, and then three lights behind it - a sort of phalanx of lights coming from behind the mountain and floating out over the sea. And as I’m standing there I’m thinking, 'I think those are UFOs.

"I’m fairly certain those are UFOs’. I thought I have to go into the house and tell my family that there are UFOs out here…but I knew that if I went in, they might disappear.

“So I just stood there, transfixed, and I watched them come all out over the ocean and then they stopped. And then they all disappeared.” He went on to explain that years later his dad also believed he had spotted UFOs in Port Talbot and that he had heard other people have spotted things in Port Talbot.

Speaking about believing in the supernatural, Michael said: “What I believe is that we have no idea what’s going on. Everything that we understand is a working hypothesis, isn’t it? And we’re able to understand the world and process everything and move forward because we’ve got something that basically works. But the idea that it doesn’t have gaping holes in it seems ridiculous. So I am very open to [it].”
