In a system that can't see you, your behavioural patterns become the things that are used to discriminate against you. That's all a digital system can really know about you. Physical attributes don't mean anything in a digital world, things like your ethnicity, gender, age, etc., aren't relevant to digital
This isn’t discrimination, this is the intention of capitalism. Has been long before the web. Under capitalism, you’re insentivised to act in a way that concentrates capital, and disincentivised from not acting in a way that concentrates capital. With digital profiling, this has just become easier.
Also, I find it in poor taste to call this ‘the new race’. Ethnicity based discrimination is still prevalent and has in no way been replaced by this. It’s a separate issue that should be addressed, but without this weird comparison.
