They would definitely gladly be wilfully ignorant to the time Communist China sent in 80,000 troops to Vietnam around 1978 to teach Vietnam a lesson, apparently saying that they’d take Hanoi in a week. Those troops failed considering Hanoi is still here. Of course both sides are quiet on this, but I still find it ironic in a way.
