Actually, I use CFOP 3-look LL and I don’t want to learn all OLL (I don’t really like algorithms).
For continued progress, I think about 2 things:
- Continue with CFOP and work on x-crosses
or - Learn ZZ method where F2L become clear and smooth and of course, only OLL-cross that I already know.
What do you think about it?
ZZ is just different. If you haven’t yet, learn the basics of ZZ then figure out which you like more. I tried it for o bit, but ultimately stuck with CFOP. I might try switching again, but who knows.
I’m learning EO and I will try this method for a while.
I’m just wondering which of the 2 ideas above will give the fastest solves.It depends on the person. The fastest solvers all currently use CFOP but they’d probably still be the fastest with ZZ. Just use whichever feels more natural for you. Just remember that you’ll slow down immediately after the switch and take a bit to get back up to speed.

That’s what I did a decade ago. I loved it.
Maybe I’m just weird but it feels good to use a different method. CFOP feels a little mindless and I feel like a robot solving with it.
I understand and share your feeling.
I also think is a good point to know other methods to better understand the cube (enter the matrix as Neo 😁).
