2000s - 2010s, lead singer was a 20 to 30 y/o woman, from the pacific northwest (Seattle maybe?). She made a couple of records with a band and then made a couple as a solo artist under her own name. Fiery as f***, rockin’ and melodic. Sort of a retro look and style.
Press F for my feeble brain. Thanks for any ideas. I couldn’t find any web sites to help with this sort of thing, but I’d love to know if any are out there.
EDIT: I found her / them: Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside

Thanks y’all!
Neko Case mostly fits the brief, although probably a lot of other people do too
Yeah, but no. I know/love Neko. Thanks though - and I know my description is vague. I’ll be stuck trying to figure this out for a while, I imagine.
Me saying this was about 80% because I love Neko Case, and 20% because she might be the answer to your question

@perishthethought Hmm…Jenny Lewis/Rilo Kiley was the first thing that popped into my head, but I’m guessing she’s more obscure- were they like indie rock or hard rock? Anything else to go on like a snippet of lyrics you remember?
More obscure, for sure. Indie rock, not hard. Almost sorta rockabilly-ish?
No song names, lyrics, nothing else are coming to mind.
You’ll probably have to be more specific. Maybe sift some PNW indie label Wikipedia pages for rosters. Because if you can’t think of anyone she toured with or any other fact no one will be able to name some indie artist with just a decade and a gender.
Distillers? Brody Dale had a solo release as spinerette.
You’re not thinking of No Doubt/Gwen Stefani are you?
One of the groups album titles was a reference to her turning 30 while recording it.
No but here’s a great No Doubt cover of a vandals song
No idea if these are good answers, but
Feist?
Or
Cat power?
No but here’s my favorite Feist video anyway:
Awesome! I can see why it’s your favorite.
Rilo Kiley, Jenny Lewis?
Shirley Manson, Garbage?

Scotland and Madison don’t match your memories, but the curtains do.
