Same thing happening in Germany right now.
The post has got that 1933 vibe. I hope the German people are successfully fighting back against this creeping menace.
I’m doing my part, but as long as mainstream parties don’t address these voters and their fears and woes with their policies in a way that’s not genocidal nazi dog whistles all day every day, it might just be a losing battle at this point.
How do you rationally address irrational fears which were created by the right wing parties? I have the feeling that the voters you want to address really believe their fears are rooted in reality.
That’s a very valid and good question. I don’t have an answer.
All I know is that villifying these voters simply hardens their resolve, and appeasement is an even worse course of action, as it validates them in their beliefs.
