An early-stages collaborative and open source resource repository for trans people. Seems to be looking for community contribution.

Hello everyone! 💜
I’m Tamzin, a transfemme non-binary person, and I’m here to share an exciting development that I believe can significantly benefit the trans and non-binary community. I’ve recently acquired Transgender.org, and my vision is to turn it into a powerful, dynamic, and continually evolving resource for our community. This is my first time posting in r/NonBinary about this project, and I truly value your input and involvement as we shape this platform.
A month ago, we began with a straightforward landing page. Today, I’m delighted to announce that we’ve launched a new beta version of the site, which is entirely open-source and available in 20 languages! (https://github.com/TransgenderDotOrg/static-site). Our immediate focus is on amassing thousands of resources, and we warmly invite all of you to contribute via our Discord.
But our vision is not limited to being a resource repository. We plan to integrate Erin’s informed consent map, enhance searchability, create custom content on lesser-discussed but vital topics, and eventually launch an exclusive social media platform for trans and non-binary individuals, inspired by initiatives like the Trevor Project.
Simultaneously, we’ve teamed up with a top-tier law firm to initiate a 501c3 and 501c4, aiming to uplift our community socially and secure legislative protections.
Transgender.org’s success relies on our collective effort. Your skills, passion, and unique insights as a member of the non-binary community are crucial. To maintain the relevance and effectiveness of our platform, we’re seeking dedicated individuals who can commit 10-15 hours weekly in the following roles:
React / Typescript Developers (2): To enhance our front-end.
Designers (2): We need one UI designer to collaborate with our existing design team and one UX researcher to help improve our user experience.
Content Designers (2): To craft high-quality content that aligns with our brand and design guidelines.
Attorney (1): To provide essential legal support and guidance.
Accountant (1): To assist with financial management and maintain our financial transparency.
Community Managers (2): To oversee our Discord and future social media platforms, ensuring a safe and welcoming space for all.
If you’re interested in contributing to this initiative, in one of these roles or in any other way, please join us on our Transgender.org Discord (link available on our homepage). Together, we can create something truly transformative and lasting.
I believe in the power of our community to shape the future of Transgender.org. I am excited to co-create with you and witness the extraordinary impact we can make together. ❤️

Every time I see a blank screen when visiting a website because it requires JavaScript to display anything at all, I die a little inside. Still, it’s very nice this exists.
Would this have anything to do with the escape button? I actually really liked that feature.
No. The quick-ESC feature would require JavaScript to function, but the rest of the website should display regardless. It’s just that nowadays people use frameworks that require JavaScript to build pretty websites and forget about people who like to disable it by default for privacy reasons and more.
the react framework and similar frameworks tend to make the page not work at all without JS. it is however still possible, by using Server Side Rendering, where the page is generated on the server side and then only updated in the client instead of needing to be generated from scratch in the browser. this also has the advantage of loading faster for users with slow internet
