Boycott US@lemmy.ca•Republican lawmaker shredded for posting AI images of himself beating up Santa on Christmas morningEnglish
3·9 hours agoHence the need to generate this AI slop to compensate
Never happened to me or anyone around me. I used to wonder how people even managed to fling them right into the TV, like… are you even holding it properly at that point? But then I figured it’d have to be just kids doing that. Kids, or drunk people.
There, I fixed it for you. Needed a little bit more jpeg.

To say we were surprised and confused by this has to be a huge understatement – we had disclosed a vulnerability in good faith, were ignored, so escalated via LinkedIn private message. I think the definition of blackmail requires a threat to be made, and there was of course no threat. We don’t work like that!
We still don’t know if it was being investigated for a while before that, if it was tracked, how they fixed it, or if they even fully fixed every issue!
I didn’t think about that, but you’re right.
You still need to watch the movie to get the whole picture, granted, but you’re better off not watching this trailer if you who read this haven’t read the book.
I haven’t gone to a movie theatre since the pandemic, and now prices are ridiculous. This movie will be the one I break that trend for, gonna see it with two buddies of mine who also read and liked the book.
I did actually listen to the audiobook as well, but in swedish. Don’t think I will be listening to the english one as well, maybe down the line.
Who did you have in mind for the movie lead yourself?

All right, thanks! Nothing I didn’t already know, then. Someone else later added that it was the downgrading AI targets-story, but that’s something I already read up on so it seems like the video doesn’t add anything important at all.
I’m not gonna watch, can you at least summarize what is said instead of just posting a link?

I might also be convinced to watch clips if Neil Patrick Harris gets another go at hosting, though.
