  • After many years of tiling wms I recently settled on Plasma. I found that tiling causes more issues than it solves (window rules much?!). For me tiling only is useful for terminals but there are other solutions for that (tmux for example).

I had to get used to not being able to do workspace per monitor anymore but now I am using Activities which works really well actually. I am a dev and have a 3 monitor setup, one for logging (bunch of terminals), one for coding and one for the output of the project I am working on (browser).

I also play games for which Plasma is perfect, its xwayland implementation is flawless, even on HiDPI which cannot be said of Hyprland for example.

    Tl;dr I like Plasma.

  • Switched to KDE after many, many years of tiling wms. Bspwm, awesomewm, i3, Hyprland. A few months back I was done with tiling as I found it got in the way more than it was useful for me and often caused issues with games, window placement and other stuff. Installed KDE. Apart from one or two minor bugs, everything just works and works well. I am really impressed.

  • No. If you are in the US and you import steel from abroad you pay 25% in taxes to the US government. The exporting party does not pay anything but risks losing their US clients.

Not sure how this works though for a Tesla factory in Germany for example that imports steel from the Netherlands.

But my point was Musk, who threw millions of dollars into Trumps campaign is probably exempt anyway.

Apart from that I understand US companies like European high grade steel alot so this is gonna hurt the US even more.

Tl;dr tariffs are bad for everyone.
