In Germany it shows Gulf of America (Gulf of Mexico)
A task force… lead by pensioners. Well meaning pensioners, no doubt… but is this the best they’ve got?
She should have done all of that, but they would have just found a different wedge issue.
Doesn’t matter - their technique will always find the greatest wedge issue because they start by spreading insane amounts of shit and use monitoring to find which ones are gaining traction. All this is a guess, but it’s such an obvious strategy that I’d be amazed if it wasn’t how they’re working.
I’m from the U.K., so I was lucky enough to experience what I believe was a PoC of this technique during our referendum for PR voting. That time, there were two wedge issues: baby incubators and - I hope I’m getting this right because my memory is hazy - bullet-proof vests for soldiers. Neither of those things were remotely related to the question… but as soon as they started to gain traction, they were pushed hard. Brexit was more money for the NHS. With Jeremy Corbin, it was support for Palestine. With Kamela, it was lack of support of Palestine. None of it needs to make sense, so long as it works as a wedge.
I still believe this was a targeted campaign to get dems to sit out. Their strategy is to spread as much shit as possible, and as soon as they see something that sticks, push it hard. It’s sad, but this strategy is extremely effective against the left because we’re all too eager to find a reason not to support the dems.
The only defence is to be aware of this strategy. Rather than shit on people, try to explain how they’ve been duped so next time they have a chance of noticing.
I mean, technically, the record will play just fine. Everything will be slightly slower and lower pitched, but it’ll work. Think doom metal meets 1930s jazz.
Everything in XKCD is based on truth. That’s what makes it so funny… to geeks, at least.
Edit: God damn it, he put 72 instead of 78 RPM. I guess he does make mistakes after all…
Much as I’d like more left-wing policies from Labour (or whoever!), the fact is just over 51% of thr UK population favour far right policies. Do we stick to our guns and lose the next election? Will a more radical left idealogy somehow persuade those voting for reform to vote Labour instead?
Look back to the hatchet job done on Jeremy Corbyn. He had his issues, for sure, but the right wing has spent the last decades fine tuning their political warfare. For Corbyn, it was that he supported Palestine. For Kamela, it was she didn’t support Palestine. I get what you are saying, but this perfect-or-nothing attitude landed the US with Trump. And the rightnwing know the left loves to find an excuse to not vote and leverage that over and over again. If we want to stop the fascists, we need to wake up to the way we are being manipulated.
Your monthly reminder that Labour lost votes the last election and only won because Reform split the right wing vote. The country is moving solidly to the far right, along with the rest of the world. Calls to implement more radical left wing policies from Labour may mean we get the worst of all options…
He’s not even a U.S. citizen.
It’s not about where it’s hosted, but what data it’s been trained on. Is it’s data set censored? That’s an important question for those that want to use it.
Some, probably most, sign up to protect their homeland not to kill lots of people. I think such motivation would get you kicked out of some armies, in fact. No one wants a psychopath in their squad!
I wanted to try to ask it about Tianamun Square last week, but they had already blocked new users.
If I understand correctly, this sale explicitly won’t include shops in stations, airports etc. The high street shops are more or less worthless in my opinion.
What I find fascinating is the details - the holes in the wall where the used to be hooks. It makes it feel more real. A view into the way people loved back then.
This started happening 6 months ago, so i don’t have such a snapshot.
That issue does look very familiar. I think I should raise a ticket there.
Thanks for your help!
I think Reform genuinely love the taste of Tango fascism.
Why would such a feature need facial recognition? Just use the ID on the travel pass and done - cheaper, faster, and harder to fake if done properly.
So, every time this comes up, I have to point out that there’s more going on in your ear the hearing. I got too close to a speaker in a club about 10 years ago and messed up my hearing. I’m quite deaf in one ear and have tinnitus. That is a long way from the worst of it, though - I get unpredictable bouts off severe nausea and vertigo. That is, I will fall over and vomit with what is best described as severe sea sickness at short notice.
Take care of your ears, they are extremely delicate and include a balance organ that you definitely don’t want to fuck up.
