Does free ridership have a tendency to stagnate a system? I don’t have anything against free transit, but I do worry that it can devalue it. I am definitely not the target audience, so it is hard to have a definitive opinion.

It seems like this should be extremely illegal.

Yeah, that’s one situation where complaining about a bumpy road is very very valid! Hadn’t thought of that
I haven’t had a problem with them, because it seems easy enough to go over them at around 25 miles per hour. 25 mph is the speed limit and all these neighborhoods. I’m sure there are situations where it becomes very annoying. I’m more curious about what the snow plows are going to do with them.

It’s hard to predict the future, but prices and behaviors would have to change if there were no cheap alternatives. Of course there’s no guarantee that unscrupulous healthy beverages wouldn’t go up in price, but that seems unlikely.
They are all over Dorchester as well.

Blue bike covers both of those scenarios. I wish they had been around years ago. Of course I don’t know how the prices compared to owning a bike.

To some degree I think tearing it down was a start, but not a well thought out solution. I personally think that ignoring these sort of encampments only allow the problem to get worse. I think they definitely need to be broken up, but simultaneously services need to be put in place to address these people’s issues. Drug addiction, poverty, homelessness from being kicked out of other protective services. The list could go on forever, but these are huge and difficult problems that we need to address.

Let apartment buildings have just one stairwell.English9·9 months agoI would like to know the difference in survival rates of fires with one staircase in these situations. It’s easy to change codes based on political factors, but I’d rather do them based on statistical ones.
Yeah, that was my feeling as well.
