I kinda can’t understand Yang going all-in on this… Who would want to associate themself with “the Nazi salute guy?”

On the other hand, there’s a certain authenticity that comes from knowing he came up with the slogan himself (because there’s no way that any AI – even grok – would generate something so tepid and transparent).
Feels like we could have saved our perpetually-strained justice system a lot of ass-ache by just… Sentencing these motherfuckers properly the first time.
Headlines from the not-too-distant future:
“Perhaps one could ascertain that some or all of the indicated entities may or may not have alleged that the individual or party in question had indeeed performed one or more of the purported actions on that date or possibly at some other time.”
I used to be against it, then my PC died in the early COVID days and the only (practical) way I could get a future-proofed replacement was to get a pre-built, and they all had RGB.
From there, though, it grew on me. Like so many other things I enjoy about working with computers, the learning process was just super enjoyable for me.
I read about different standards (RGB vs aRGB, 3 pins vs 4 pins, this module or that one, this software vs that), tried a few things, and got it looking like I wanted. Now I’m using OpenRGB to make my own patterns that match the room or the weather or whatever wallpaper I’ve got. Turning understanding into control and self-expression just feels good man.
Can’t wait to hear the water cooler discourse regarding the legal/moral implications of this novel new internet fad called “rule 34.”
Also, there’s a pretty significant chance that these “arcades” won’t be stocked with cool, nostalgic, actually-fun-to-play games, but rather the usual crop of scammy gashapon* bullshit.
“Built a 3000 bed federal prison in eight days” almost sounds like they finally actually did something, until you realize:
But yeah, I also would have preferred our government take care of the unhoused (or just done nothing at all) instead of… this.
Oh, goofing off, for sure. I’ve got my feet up and I’m watching old episodes of King of the Hill right now.
According to this video, the important part is a V-shaped notch with bevelled edges, cut into some thin piece of plastic.
* cough, cough *
There are few greater antipoles to me and “my whole thing” than my dad, but… He taught me the value of being cautious, and to take time to extensively evaluate pros and cons before I made important decisions. I took that ball and ran with it, and now I am routinely praised by my peers for my ability to foresee potential pitfalls and preemptively negate them, and reflexively I think of my dad who would suggest that it was just common sense.
Of course it’s not just “common sense” – but rather a curious mindset and an intentional thought process – and you instilled that in me, Dad. Thank you.
When a picture is worth a billion words.
I thought the picture surely had to be CG or AI created at first.
Same… This photo is so surreal, I immediately thought of Simon Stalenhag.
My grandfather used to say this all the time. He was such a humble man, too, so it always got a good “dad joke” chuckle. Glad to see it’s still out there.
