  • I’ve yet to see a pet owned by someone homeless who was cold, struggling or suffering. They were the happiest creatures that I knew. They spent all of their time with their best friend, had lots of time for play and love, and were always fed first and fed well.

I spent half of my 20s homeless and met plenty of homeless dogs and cats. Rats too. All of which could have run off at any point but never did. They were always warm, were protected fiercely by their owners and were STUPIDLY happy and well behaved. Super social and friendly.

You also gotta think about it from our perspective too. No one cares about us at all. We often have to fight for ourselves and are completely alone in it all. No one wants to love us and, often, we don’t love ourselves. A pet? Can literally make or break someone. I’ve seen it. I’ve seen someone lose their pet and become homeless and I’ve seen someone homeless gain a pet and become a totally different person and start thriving. Just because something cared about them back.

I also can’t think of any situation in which any of them would have chosen to keep their pet homeless if there was a guaranteed place for them to go where they’re happy and safe and loved. But there isn’t for most people. You said put them up for adoption but what if no one takes them? Now you’re both alone for no reason. What if they end up in a kill shelter somehow?

Things are not as black or white as they appear. More black and white. Like a gorgeous husky I knew named Rocky who was the happiest fuck that I EVER knew.

  • I 100% believe that we live in a simulation. I also 100% do not fucking care. Literally nothing I can do to change that. If there is a simulation capable of rendering the entirety of existence in the way that it does, then my gay ass isn’t going to change anything Besides, food still tastes good and dick still feels nice. Don’t care if it is simulated or not. Although I do believe that it is.

That video is just nonsensical horseshit. I am so tired of people taking shrooms and thinking that that somehow turns them into a genius. You, Joe Rogan, who the fuck else? Stop it, just because you had a realization about a couple of things. Doesn’t mean that you were somehow the one human being on earth who will pierce the veil.

  • That is a product of the change in television style and nothing else. These are the same stories being told just through a slightly different lens. Still progressive. Still pushes for equality. Still does all the things that you claimed. The only difference is that this time it isn’t screaming at the top of its lungs and shove it down your throat thinking that you are going to be incapable of being able to pick it up on your own. Thing that baffles me is that so many people aren’t able to pick it up on their own. They do, apparently, need it screamed at the top of their lungs with a really hacky speech.

It’s not a product of conservatives. It’s a product of the evolution of television. Everything people want from Star Trek is still there and still being screamed just in a slightly different accent. But calling old Star Trek subtle is one of the funniest things that I’ve ever fucking heard. Mainly because it’s the dead opposite of what’s actually happening. New Star Trek is subtle. Old Star Trek wasn’t. New Star Trek is able to be subtle by telling a story over the course of an entire season and having each episode focus on a different part. Old Star Trek had the entire moral, entire story and everything wrapped up into 45 minutes. That immediately means that you cannot be subtle because you have to make it as obvious as humanly possible so that you can get the point across in 45 minutes. But saying that the half-white, half-black people and the half-black, half-white people are somehow a subtle representation of the racist things happening in the 60s is ridiculous.

  • Nah I don’t mind it for jokes but I’m definitely not a furry. Not like there’s anything wrong with it, just can’t say that I am in the ranks of the glorious.

I would argue that my description applies to most peoples DnD characters in general though. That’s why I was confused by the furry stuff at first. Because my buddy who plays a half elf says the same thing about his character. Is he an elfie? The other one who played the goblin says the same thing. Is he a gobby? I chose aarakocra because I thought it’d be cool race to play outside of the typical humanoid ones. The wings were a bonus. But I want to be him because of his personality, not necessarily his looks. I just put his art in because I paid for it ages ago and don’t get to share it often.

  • Lemmy does the same thing to me, actually. Granted, I have over 8,000 notifications, so I don’t know if that’s because of the amount that I have or what. That being said, feel free to message me or something Here, Matrix, Discord, whatever I don’t talk to a ton of people, so like, conversation and stuff is cool. And I do things other than whine.

Today though, yeah, a lot better. The landlord has accepted the rent transfer. Bills are mostly paid. Most things are kind of taken care of. I am far luckier than I deserve to have been able to get the help that I did from everybody here.

As for the apologies, that is a combination of being Canadian and traumatized. It is a habit that I am trying to get over. It is easier said than done You have no idea how fucking bad I am trying to not say sorry. For saying sorry. Not as a joke. Just… yeah.
