For some songs and artists plex doubles the title or name and puts a semi-colon with it. I can not figure out why from the file or naming it is doing this. Does this happen to anyone else?

This has happened to mine in the last week as well. It’s a bit annoying.

So yes, sort of. All my music was tagged prior to Plex and I am still going through it but I moved away from the Plex Music for the Scanner and Agent. I know it’s a step backwards and a bit more work up front but I am using the “Plex Music Scanner” scanner and “Last.fm” agent. I unchecked use genre tags from last.fm and I am using embedded tags.
I have to ignore Plex yelling at me to “upgrade libraries” but no more ; with multiple artist names just the single Album artist. T
The other MAJOR benefit from this is I use smart playlist using 3, 4, & 5 ★ system and if the artist had the same song on multiple albums it would show up multiple times in the playlist. This seems to fix that issue! Once all the metadata is set, it should be easy to maintain going forward.
Probably the ID3 data or embedded tags, what software were you using to manage your music before moving them into Plex?
Currently nothing. Do you have a recommendation on one to do it in mass?
Yes it is very weird because it does not happen to all even if from same source.
