By combining tobacco consumption with mild nausea your brain will associate the discomfort with the taste of tobacco. In other words, by making you slightly dizzy while you smoke, you will build an aversion to the taste of tobacco.The nausea is induced by spinning the room in VR. If you are sensitive to motion sickness, be mindful and pause the spinning at the first sign of nausea/sickness.This game might make you fall over make sure to clear the play area before you start. If you are pregnant it is even more important that you do not fall. Only go for the coaching and relaxation parts.Before doing one of the aversion sessions in the program we recommend not to eat anything that is a new taste to you. That is because we do not want your brain to associate the aversion we trigger in this program to any other taste than tobacco.There are no guarantees that you will become free from tobacco although we are happy to say that we have a pretty decent success rate.
We’re a startup looking for feedback on this beta software. The idea is to vape/smoke/snus during short ‘aversion’ sessions in VR, and then quitting (for most people) happens automatically (the tobacco suddenly tastes/smells terrible).
There’s also some coaching and anxiety exercises.
