    They gave us bread and circuses.

    Why do you think there’s so much money in entertainment?

      Yeah but at least the bread was free and the circuses were good. Now bread costs another dollar more every time there are ‘supply chain issues’ and the circus is what we used to call news.

    But the capitalists keep telling me our lives are great because now we have computers and cars and sugar in all our food! Don’t tell me they lied to me…

      The standard of living for the vast majority is better but the anxiety of being on the edge of losing it is as high as it has ever been.

      Less scheduled violence.

      Everyone showed up to public beheadings. Mass shootings are way more common but sporadic.
