The United Kingdom has updated its travel advice for British citizens planning to visit the United States, warning of potential arrest or detention if travelers fail to comply with entry requirements.

It comes amid President Donald Trump’s large-scale crackdown on illegal immigration.

“You should comply with all entry, visa and other conditions of entry. The authorities in the U.S. set and enforce entry rules strictly. You may be liable to arrest or detention if you break the rules,” the guidance reads.

It’s more “updates the wording of its travel guidelines” than “issues travel warning”, I’d say - the latter sounds far more ominous.

So… The official rules are that no criticism of trump is allowed if you don’t want to be chained up? What a cop out.

No. It is a warning that the US regime isn’t under diplomatic influence towards rule of law in reasonable amount of time for individuals. It’s not a cop out, because rule of law in the USA is obviously not enforceable from the UK.

Entry requirements don’t include not criticising the leadership of the country. Where is that written?

Our government should be telling us that we may be chained in a black site, incommunicado for months with no recourse on a pretext because the big orange monster is throwing his weight around.
