But the floof is cute!
I’ve been playing a Kitsune in a PF2e campaign for the past year and change. He’s based on a silver fox. I keep hoping the party will go somewhere cold so his winter hormones will activate and he’ll go ultimate floof mode – But it’s Strength of Thousands, which is set in Mwangi, so I don’t think that’s happening.

A fellow PF2e enjoyer I see.

What’s stopping you from drinking a weird potion to do the same? (beyond an uncooperative GM?)

Mostly flavour. He has no reason to floof up in the middle of fantasy Africa except maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe “to show off to my students” (it’s SoT. Which is set in a magical school. We’re level 11. Which means the party graduated and became professors. And I took the Entourage feat, which grants you some followers that don’t go into combat, and I flavoured it as “the students love the brooding asian immigrant pyromancy professor, and follow him around after class”)
Our DM is actually super happy to accomodate our weird shit. I told him my char was big into fashion and he just gave me a dweomerweave robe so my fox boio (the general character concept is ‘what if prince Zuko was a fox’) was always stylish.
But I still think it would be funny if they went to an icy place for like field research or whatever, and suddenly my boy is looking like a furball and the party is like “???!?!?!??!???”
Understandable.
Something that might be worth a shot is to give the GM one of the cold monsters that would inspire them to nudge them into that situation.
Also sounds like a really cool game.

It absolutely is.
I’d totally be into it if someone was down to roleplay the “brushing out your winter coat” and “vacuuming up the fur on the floor” parts.
Honestly that could be kinda soothing in a way. A nice little slice of life with low stakes.
Absolutely.
Come to think of it, I kinda do this IRL lol. During the summer months I maintain a full-body shave, like femboy style. But in winter I just trim down the most extensive grow. Mostly 'cause I’m lazy, but also because during the cold months my skin always gets super dry and itchy no matter how much lotion I use, and I don’t wanna make it worse by shaving.
The world is cooked
