Bush, 2000 election, sold its soul to aging conservatives to retire in the delusion they were right all along about… you know… those people etc

The outrage of one paragraph saying some slaves developed skills that helped them in post-slavery life, that’s in a 216 page history book is absurd haha.

This is why so many people distrust our ‘news’

What’s absurd is that the meaning of the paragraph is nothing to you, but the number of words. In a book full of words. That’s why you’re not taken seriously. What is meaning anyhow? Aren’t all books just collections of words, and there’s lots of books so lots of words? Do collections of words have impact, meaning, or can I just say write/stuff and it doesn’t mean anything? You are a fucking clown. You sure get your knickers in a twist when a single word comes up you don’t like. Hell, a fucking acronym and you obsequious boot lickers lose your shit.

First Florida takes away their own history by censuring or banning history books and classes both primary and continuing, turns around with a new history book that has none of that other shit, but tiny widdle paragragh about how slavery was good for you. That’s why we think you’re fascist mouth-breathers.

Did you look at the book at all? If you did, you know you’re lying. If you didn’t, you’re ignorant and solely perpetuating whatever headlines you see.

Once you take a look at the history book, and read the paragraph, then lets discuss.

it’s certainly true that the slave trade existed in Africa for thousands of years, but it existed everywhere else for just as long. for the skill development bit though? I suppose I could see how picking cotton/farming the land could promote good muscle growth, and working outside in nature is beneficial to your overall health… and I’d guess that being provided with minimal rations could force you to learn how to cook.

justify? not really. just saying I can see how you could arrive at the point the educational system is making.

There is an entire nation of educators that do have those credentials that are disputing Florida’s nonsense. Meanwhile The state itself is hemorrhaging teachers, and the insurance rates have gone so high due to repeated hurricanes that my cousin, an extremely rich and successful real estate broker, is leaving the state because real estate is now imploding there. The anti-immigrant law that the far-right legislature there passed, has left the entire construction industry at a standstill as well as wreaking havoc in the agricultural industry. Meanwhile the insurance industry is flat-out leaving the state because there’s no way to make money there. At the same time Desantis and the legislature are doing nothing to evolve Florida building codes and harden the infrastructure to keep the State livable in a world with multiple major hurricanes per season.

At any rate, Florida is just plain f#cked - the exodus has begun and Desantis is adding fuel to the fire.

do you have the credentials to dispute the State of Florida’s Board of Education?

Given how much of a joke Florida’s education is, I don’t think anybody needs any credentials to criticize the board. But even if that weren’t the case, you are just a straight up using an appeal to authority fallacy.

African countries didn’t declare their existence with the phrase “all men are created equal”. Slavery was this countries’ original sin and we deserve every criticism for refusing to abolish it until we had to kill each other for it. Next time you could also “see” use the brain that’s connected to those eyes
